What Do You Mean By Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care is a form of alternative medical care that primarily focuses on diagnosing and addressing issues with the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine. Chiropractic care focuses on addressing the root cause of an individual’s problems.
Rather than just treating the symptoms such as a headache, or low back pain. Chiropractors will find, and correct why the headache or low back pain may have started in the first place. Chiropractic care goes beyond alleviating pain and discomfort, it can help you enjoy a healthier, more active lifestyle at every age.
How Does Chiropractic Adjustment Work?
Our doctors use the Gonstead Method to adjust our patients. This means we tailor adjustments specifically for every patient and focus on full-body wellness. Using this method allows us to accurately pinpoint where to adjust by identifying the source of your pain or discomfort.
Gonstead adjustments were created to provide maximum effect to the discs of your spine, while also working to help restore alignment and motion.
What Health Conditions Can Chiropractors Help Manage?
Chiropractic care can help alleviate the symptoms of a variety of health conditions at every age. Some of the most common we help our patients manage are:
- Fertility Issues
- Sleep Disorders
- Numbness/Tingling
- Sciatica Pain
- Back Pain
- Extremity/Joint Pain
- Hypothyroidism
- Neck Pain & Stiffness
- Sports Injuries
- Migraines & Chronic Headaches
How Long Does It Take To Get Results?
It depends on what brings you into our office. Different injuries and conditions take different lengths of time to get relief. In general, our patients can expect to see an improvement within 1-4 weeks. We can discuss what to expect during your first visit to our office, along with recommendations to help you manage pain and alleviate discomfort.
Are Adjustments Painful?
You should never feel pain during a chiropractic adjustment, a mild soreness after adjustments is normal, but pain is not. You might feel a slight soreness, similar to what you feel after exercising, after an adjustment as your muscles get used to being in a new position.
How Often Do I Need To Be Seen By A Chiropractor?
This varies depending on your individual needs, but when you are just beginning to be seen by our doctors, you may need adjustments more frequently. Remember, ongoing chiropractic care and adjustments are essential to help keep your spine healthy!
Are X-Rays Necessary?
X-rays are a necessary part of your first appointment with us, it’s important for us to be able to see exactly what is happening with your spine, pelvis, and extremities before we begin adjustments.
Do Chiropractors Prescribe Medication?
No. Chiropractors are not licensed to write medical prescriptions and instead approach healing with an all-natural philosophy. Our goal is to help our patients avoid the use of heavy pain medications and surgery.
Is Chiropractic Care Preventative?
Absolutely! Chiropractic care is an excellent preventative health measure to take to stay both physically and mentally healthy. Chiropractic care can strengthen your immune system, help improve joint mobility, boost muscle strength, improve your sleep quality, and assist with managing digestive issues and chronic health conditions.
